If you like sandy beaches, you will love West Kirby Beach! At low tide, there are miles of sand. The beach is perfect for walks, beach days, and sunset-watching with a bag of fish and chips. The sunsets here, especially in spring/summer, are unbelievable. If you have a dog, the beach and walking routes are (very) dog-friendly.

From West Kirby Beach, you can walk to Hilbre Island. The islands here are an archipelago and just one of 43 unbridged tidal islands in the UK you can walk to from the mainland. You can only access the island during low tide, so please follow all the guidance and the suggested walking route and check tide times.

Located next to the beach is the Marine Lake. If you’re into sailing or water sports, the West Kirby Sailing Club is a fantastic place to get involved, regardless of your ability level. They offer sailing lessons, host races and are family-friendly.

West Kirby has lovely traditional pubs and vibrant bars for drinks. And, of course, being beside the seaside, there are great places to get fish and chips in West Kirby.

Wirral is not short of green spaces. There are plenty of parks, woodlands, hiking and cycling trails to explore. Take a walk and have a picnic at Coronation Park or Ashton Park.

Ashton Park dates to Victorian and Edwardian times. Its centre has a lake with a fountain and many wild birds you can feed. There are also plenty of trails that lead onto the Wirral Way from here.

West Kirby also has an entrance point to the Wirral Way, a walking and cycling path that makes it easy to access the Wirral Country Park by bike or foot from home.

Mother is also a great deli in West Kirby, featuring local produce and other exciting bits and bobs. The combination of local boutiques, high-street stores, and essential services makes daily life easy and fun, especially if you love to browse and wander.
